Looking for a unique wedding idea?

Consider decorating a pretty little flower girl parasol. You could just have flowers on it, the date or the bridal couple's initials. The possibilities are endless!

First Dance Songs

Wedding planning is a series of small decisions (and a few bigger ones) that all come together to create an amazing and perfect day. Picking your first dance song is one of those smaller decisions that is likely to evoke an emotional response from you, your partner and your guests on that special day. Some couples have no problem choosing a song and will dance to their favorite, but others don't have "a" song and find it more difficult to come to this decision.

Here is a post by The Things We Know blog that will help you come to this all important decision. Here are a few of their suggestions, but we recommend checking out their site and reading the whole article which include other tips.

Suggestions:

Bright Eyes "First Day of My Life"
Eva Cassidy "Songbird"
The Beatles "In My Life"
Dave Barnes "On a Night Like This"
The Civil Wars "Dance Me to the End of Love"
Van Morrison "Crazy Love"
Ingrid Michaelson "You and I"
Frank Sinatra "The Way You Look Tonight"
Peter Gabriel "In Your Eyes"

Bellingham Weddings - Choosing the Right Date

Congratulations on your engagement! Now the fun is about to start. If you are newly engaged you may be feeling overwhelmed by the thought of planning a Bellingham wedding. Never fear, brides! We, your Bellingham limo experts, are here, along with a host of other trained professionals, to help you through the process.

One of the first decisions you have to make is the date of the wedding. This is a complicated decision and the choice you make will influence many other aspects of the wedding. Of course, a bridal couple has to work around their schedule. Work, vacation time and other family commitments can greatly influence the decision. The schedule of important people in their lives, such as parents, grandparents, extended family members, and friends should also be considered.

The choice of date will greatly influence the colors of the wedding. A winter bride might want to embrace the season with a Christmas theme or a silver, white and icy blue color scheme. A spring bride might want to have pastel colors or go for a vibrant garden theme. Summer couples might decide to go with warm citrus colors of the season or a beach theme. Fall weddings will lend themselves to a palette of golds, reds and oranges.

The date of the event will also have an influence on the venue. If you have your heart set on a specific venue, you will have to check on the availability before you set the date. A popular venue will book-up quickly, so be sure to start the process early.

Additionally, the wedding budget will also be effected by the date of the wedding. According to Apply Wed, the Top 5 Most Popular Wedding Dates for 2012, based on their data of over 300 responses are:
  • July 14
  • August 11
  • August 18
  • July 28
  • August 25
If you choose one of these dates, or another popular day, you are likely to be paying a premium price on the venue and all the services and vendors you will be hiring.

Consider getting married on a Sunday or a Friday. It's likely that there will be fewer couples trying to book your venue on those days.
